Jeremiah Daniel "J.D." Mann

Jeremiah Daniel “J.D.” Mann, age 49, of Marion, NC passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville, NC.

Mr. Mann was born November 2, 1968 in McDowell County, NC to Dora Frady Sparks and to the late Cecil Mann.  He formerly worked in shipping at Collins & Aikman and was a longtime volunteer at the Hospice of Rutherford Thrift Store.  He enjoyed working on older cars and loved attending the Corpening YMCA.  Mr. Mann fostered many youth here in McDowell County for over 8 years.  He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

In addition to his father, he is also preceded in death by his sister, Robin Wright and his niece, Charity Hope Wright.

In addition to his mother, left behind to cherish Mr. Mann’s memories are his daughter, Caty Mann; a number of foster children; his step-father, Roy Sparks; two sisters, Sherry McIntosh and husband, Junior and Kendall Sparks; and nieces and nephew, Savana Chenault, Hunter McIntosh, Addyson McIntosh and Heidi McIntosh.

In keeping with Mr. Mann’s wishes no services will be held.
