Jennie Cannon

Jennie Cannon, age 74, of the Montford Cove Community, departed to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at her residence with her loving family at her side.  Born in Buncombe County, North Carolina on November 22, 1945, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Elmina Wilson Craig. 

She was preceded in death by, in addition to her parents, one brother, William A. Craig. 

A loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother, Jennie, along with her husband, Sidney, travelled the world while he served in the United States Navy from 1966 until 1993.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Sidney Cannon of the home; two sons, Gregory Cannon and his wife, Naomi of Marion, North Carolina and William Cannon and his wife, Stephanie of Black Mountain, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Brittany, Kaitlyn, Zachary and Maxwell; and one great grandchild on the way. 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home. 

A private interment will be held at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
