J.D. Lail

J.D. Lail, of Marion, North Carolina, surrounded by his loved ones, passed away at his residence on the morning of Monday, April 29, 2019.  Having just celebrating his 70th birthday on April 11, J.D. was born in McDowell County, North Carolina to the late Joseph and Mildred Buchanan Lail.  He was also preceded in death by two sons, Joseph Dewey Lail, Jr. and Robert Lee Lail; two brothers Teddy Joe and Ricky Lail.

J.D. was a faithful member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He enjoyed being outdoors. J.D. was a wonderful husband and very loving father. He will be missed by all that knew him.

J.D. is survived by his loving wife Nancy Lee Lail; two daughters, Brenda Kaye Lail Player (James) and Cheryl Lynn Lail Komormy (David); two sisters, Wilma Vess and Pat Stoffer; and one brother, Randy Keith Lail.  He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Amanda Komormy, Max Komormy, Joey Player and Brandon Player; one great granddaughter Millicent Lovinger; a very special nephew, Matt Massengale (Renee’) and their two special boys, Andy and Levi; and a very special niece, Amelia Flynn (Toby) and their two precious girls, Morgan and Julianna.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jason Bright and Pastor Bud Sheets officiating.
