Janice Gentry

Janice Gentry, age 63, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care. She was born in Burke County on August 20, 1953 to the late J.P. Orders and Imogene Camp Orders.

Janice was an active member of Solid Rock Baptist Church of Morganton. She enjoyed many hobbies but mostly she just loved taking care of her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a friend to everyone and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her mother, Imogene Camp Orders; her husband of forty-one years, Bill Gentry; two children, Scott Gentry and Kelli Gentry both of Morganton. Also surviving Janice are her three grandchildren, Devin Shuping, Katelyn and Connor Gentry.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Solid Rock Baptist Church in Morganton with Reverend Stacey Layne officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Solid Rock Baptist Church cemetery.
