Janet Mangona

On the night of Thursday, October 31, 2019, Janet Franklin Mangona, age 69, of Marion, North Carolina, departed to be with the Lord at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville.  The daughter of the late Lee and Mary Cheek Franklin, she was born in McDowell County, North Carolina on September 13, 1950.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Mangona; and one brother, Don Franklin. 

Janet, who loved her family and life itself, enjoyed cooking and had a special place in her heart for animals. 

Left to cherish her precious memories are her loving husband of 52 years, Anthony Mangona; one daughter, Kimberly Garrison (Keith) of Morganton; three grandchildren, Taylor Mangona (Jordan), Joshua Garrison and Morgan Garrison; and one great granddaughter, Sophia Burleson.  Janet is also survived by two special nephews, Steven and Kelly Franklin; along with several other nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 04, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Preston Thomas and Pastor Steven Franklin officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
