Janet Ann Frentz Kinsey age 94 of Lake Waccamaw, NC passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on September 26, 2024. Born June 4, 1930 in Hammond, Indiana, Janet was the daughter of the late Fred Henry Frentz and Mildred Martha Wiese Frentz.

Janet was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Lois Frentz Paterson.

She is survived by her devoted husband Paul Richard Kinsey of 72 years, and children: Barbara Higgs of Bluffton, SC, her children Kathryn (Josh Johnson) and Luke; Beverly of Marion, NC (Rick Watts) sons, Kevin, Timothy (Samantha), and Matthew (Elizabeth); Donald Kinsey of Lake Waccamaw, NC and his children, Kayla, Alyssa, and Taylor; David Kinsey of Texas (Paulia) his children BreeAnne (Harrison Sherwood), Sadie (David Thompson), Preston, and Emily (Emma); Karen Kinsey of The Netherlands (Gerrit Scherpenzeel) sons Scott and Kyle.

She was raised in Hammond, Indiana, baptized, confirmed and married in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church 1952. She graduated from Hammond High school in 1948 and from Chicago Wesley Memorial Hospital, Chicago, Illinois, affiliated with Northwestern University as a registered nurse. She was a clinical instructor, industrial nurse and night float.

She volunteered with the Girl Scouts as a leader, trainer, neighborhood chairperson in Columbus County, NC, day camp director and Board of Directors. She took troops to Canada and Indiana and was a camp nurse for seven years at Camp Pretty Pond. She was a water safety instructor and taught swimming for 30 years. She was on the Board of Directors for the YWCA Wilmington, NC. She was in the Agriculture Extension Homemakers in Columbus, and Hew Hanover County, NC where she served as the chairperson. Janet was president, held offices in Citizenship, Arts; county and State. She was active in Cub Scouts serving as den mother, trainer, day camp director and nurse. She was also an EMTI in New Hanover County, NC as a volunteer. She started Community Watch in Columbus County and was the President of the State of NC Community Watch.

She was a long time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wilmington, NC where she was a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir, was on the church council, and taught first year Catechism.

Paul and Janet moved to Spring Island, SC in 1992. Janet joined Community Bible Study in both Bluffton and Beaufort, SC. Janet was a core leader for 17 years. Janet was a member of the Parish Church of St. Helena’s Episcopal Church in Beaufort, SC. Janet and her husband moved to Lake Waccamaw, NC in September 2021.

She got great delight in doing things with her grandchildren, her family, her church, camping, sewing and crafts.
