Jane Cable Oertel

 Jane Eloise Cable Oertel, 81, of Nebo, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Deer Park Health and Rehabilitation.

 Jane was born in Swain County, NC on August 30, 1943, to the late Richard Pearson Cable and Virginia Jenkins Cable. She loved people, and for many years, Jane was an employee of Wal-Mart. She enjoyed cooking for the family, laughing, and talking about the old days growing up together. Jane was a Christian who loved going to Church. She was always willing to help anyone. Prior to her decline in health, she was an active member of Drowning Creek Baptist Church in Longview. During her stay at Deer Park, Jane was always spreading love and giving hugs to everyone. She will always be loved and remembered. 

 In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Jean Cable; two sisters, Margaret Cable and Martha Johnson; and a brother, Harold Cable.

 Those left to cherish her memory include a sister, Marie Crowder; a brother, Rev. Jim Cable and wife Linda; and a grandson, who is currently serving in the U.S. Army.

 A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
