Jane Burnett Davis, 71, of Old Fort, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her residence with her family by her side.
The daughter of the late Silas and Virginia Burnett, Jane was born in McDowell County, North Carolina on July 30, 1948. She worked for many years as a teller at BB&T. Jane had a passion for horses and children. She taught riding lessons and founded Magical Moments Therapeutic Riding Center, which was her pride and joy. She was also a member of the Saddle and Bridle Club. A member of First Baptist Church of Marion, Jane loved quilting and tending to honeybees with her husband.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Merrill Davis; three daughters, Angela Smith, Tabitha Brown (Shane); and Cynthia Webb; one stepson, David Davis (Mandy): six grandchildren, Wesley and Josh Landry, Sierra Greene, Lucas Oliver, and Taylor and Liam Davis; one great grandchild, Lilia Greene; and one sister, Ann Burnett.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Davis’ life will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Davistown Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Frank Cable officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:30 p.m. prior to the service.
