In the early morning hours of Thursday, February 18, 2021, while surrounded by her loved ones, Jane Gibbs Burress, age 68, of Valdese, North Carolina, departed to be with the Lord at her residence. The daughter of the late Tommy and Sue Craig Gibbs, she was born in McDowell County, North Carolina on May 13, 1952.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Beth Gibbs Wilson.
An avid reader, Jane was an amazing and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She truly loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson. She was a member of Nebo United Methodist Church.
Those left to behind to cherish Jane’s memories are her loving husband of 48 years, Ray Burress; one son, Kevin Burress; one brother, Larry Gibbs and his wife, Jean; one grandson, Ty Burress; a number of nieces and nephews; and one aunt, Ann Morgan.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Wilson-Ballew Memorial Cemetery in Nebo with Rev. Dean Owenby officiating.
