Jamie "Buddy" Christopher Hensley

Jamie "Buddy" Hensley, born on November 16, 1958, in Buncombe County, left this world on October 12, 2024, at UNC Blue Ridge. Jamie was a cherished husband, a dedicated family man, and an avid musician whose lifelong passion for music brought joy to many.

From the age of five, Jamie exhibited a profound love for music, particularly through the bass guitar. His talent and enthusiasm led him to play in various bands throughout his life, where he became known not only for his musical abilities but also for his vibrant personality. Jamie was recognized as a great husband, always bringing laughter and kindness to those around him. His sense of humor and playful joking made him a beloved member of his family and friends.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 22 years, Shirley Rhom Hensley. In addition to his loving wife, Jamie is survived by his stepchildren Mickey Hall, Danny Hall, and Angela Hall, along with her companion David Kirkpatrick. He was a cherished brother to Larry Hensley and his wife Doris, and Billy Hensley and his wife Barbara. His sister, Patti Buckner, and her husband Ray also mourn his passing. Jamie's legacy will continue through his five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews, adding to the family he adored.

A memorial service to honor Jamie's life will be held at a later date.
