Jim Wright, age 78, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Charles George VA Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Jim was born in Roanoke County, Virginia October 22, 1938 to the late Charles and Violet Martin Wright.
Jim was a proud United States Army veteran who loved his country. He loved being outdoors whether it be camping, riding motorcycles, or horseback riding. Jim enjoyed traveling and had been to all fifty states except two. He also loved the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR racing. He loved his family and friends most of all and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
Mr. Wright was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Charity Hope Wright and DJ Huffman.
He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, of fifty one years, Lib Wright; one daughter, Tina Huffman and one son, James C. Wright (Julia); one sister, Barbara Jenkins; two grandchildren, Tiffany Huffman and Tristian Huffman. Also surviving Mr. Wright are six great-grandchildren; Zacharee Wright, Eli Fedler, Sassy Fedler, Malachi McHone, Teagan McHone and Maverick Haynes.
A service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church with Mr. Paul Baker and Marcus Loftis officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at Glenwood Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
