James Ernest Williams

James Ernest Williams, age 77, of Marion, North Carolina passed away January 25, 2017 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville. He was born December 18, 1939 to the late George and Helen Noles Williams.

James was a member of Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church and also a member of Gideon’s International where he served as a chaplain and worked in the prison ministry. He was employed with Galey & Lord company for forty-two years. James formally served as a hospice volunteer.

Left to cherish James’s memory are his loving wife of forty-two years, Karen Williams; five children, Gary Williams, Greg Williams, Rick Williams, Michael Williams and Amy Williams Suttles and husband Donnie. Also, surviving Mr. Williams are his three grandchildren, Jesse Williams, Jayden and Maris Suttles.

A funeral service for James will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Rick Wood and Mr. Donnie Suttles officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at the Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
