James Ernest Roland

James Ernest Roland, age 50, of Marion NC, passed away Saturday October 14, 2017 at Memorial Mission Campus of Asheville. A native of McDowell County, he was born on November 7, 1966 to the late Pete and Lois Dalton Roland.

James was one of a kind and has truly made a lasting impression on anyone who had ever had the pleasure of knowing him. He had many friends and family members who will greatly miss him.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of sixteen years, Joanna Hartwell Roland; two children whom he thought the world of, Melissa Roland and Joseph Roland; two sisters Sandra Noblitt (Darrell), and Lori Walker (Paul), all of Marion. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. James also leaves behind his faithful canine companion, “Chotty.”

A celebration of his life will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday October 19, 2017, in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Ronnie Gentry officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
