James Callaway Pritchard, 69, of Lake Lure, North Carolina, passed away on the morning of Friday, November 13, 2020 at Mission Hospital McDowell.
A native of Rutherford County, he was born on August 11, 1951 to the late Herman James Pritchard and Betty Jean Thompson Pritchard.
James, who never met a stranger, loved his family and friends dearly. He enjoyed fishing and show cars. He was an avid fan of all types of sports from football to golf. James was very involved in the lives of his grandchildren, and he was always present at their ballgames. He truly loved the Lord and was an active member of Bills Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher and deacon.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Bobby Pritchard.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Searcy Pritchard; two children, Shelly Brown (Jamie) and Kelly Pritchard (Cindy); seven grandchildren, Colby, Parker, Addie, and Mattox Brown and Alexas, Gabriel, and Coleman Pritchard; one great grandchild, Kenna Callaway; and one sister, Donna Pritchard.
A funeral service to celebrate Mr. Pritchard’s life will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Bills Creek Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the church.
