James E. Lane, Jr.

On the night of Wednesday, September 1, 2021, James Edwards Lane, Jr. passed away at Northside Gwinnett with his family by his side. A native of Shelby, North Carolina James was born on December 6, 1948 to the late James Edwards Lane, Sr. and Margaret Brock.

He is preceded in death by his wife of twenty-three years, Chalor Lane.

James was a proud United States Army Veteran and retired from the Forestry Service. He also served many years as fireman and paramedic. James was a loving father, brother and grandfather, who enjoyed being outdoors especially watching his birds.

James is survived by five children, James Edward Lane, III, Pamela Lane Lee, Lisa Scruggs (Edward Scruggs, IV), step-children, Bobby Cromer (Tiffanie) and Tony Cromer; two siblings, Sandy Barnett and Keith Lane. Also surviving James are fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandson.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery with Pastor Matt McDaniel officiating.
