In the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 28, 2016, James “Jim” McGarr, age 83, of Nebo, North Carolina, loving husband, father and grandfather, went home to be with the Lord while at Four Seasons Compassion for Life’s Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, North Carolina.  A native of Caldwell County, North Carolina, born May 05, 1933, he was the son of the late William and Verna Barnett McGarr.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Bob McGarr.

Due to inclement weather, the celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Monday, January 09, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Marion’s Fellowship Hall with Rev. Jacob Dovylliez officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
