James Ray Hall

James Ray Hall, age 85, of Nebo, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the Cranberry House of Newland with his loving family by his side. James was born on September 10, 1932 to the late Edgar and Nora Deal Hall.

 

He is preceded in death by his wife of forty-seven years, Betty Willis Hall; one brother, Russell Hall; and three sisters, Pauline Clontz, Louise Wilson and Irene Creson.

 

James was a member of Cross Memorial Baptist Church. He loved being outdoors, woodworking, tending to his flower gardens and passing out candy. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

 

Left to cherish his memories are two children, Robert Hall (Karen) and Brenda Edwards (Morris); three grandchildren, Christopher Edwards, Andrew Hall and Zach Hall (Chesna). Also surviving James are one great-grandchild, Harper Hall; sister-in-law, Josie Seagle, numerous nieces and nephews and a special neighbor, Bernice Cline.

 

A funeral service to celebrate James’ life will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service with Dr. Richard Seagle and Reverend Ryan Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment with military honors by the United States Army will take place following the service at Cross Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.
