James "Fuzzy" Lewis Steptoe

James “Fuzzy” Lewis Steptoe, 64, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, July 02, 2022.

He was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on May 12, 1958 to the late William Payne Steptoe and Kathleen Elaine Brown Steptoe.

Fuzzy had a true passion for cooking. He earned a degree in culinary arts, and his family will remember him for his wonderful food and comical personality. He loved his family wholeheartedly. Fuzzy was an avid sports fan, and he loved the Dallas Cowboys.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three siblings, Willie Mae Petty, Florence Watson, and Larry Elwood Steptoe.

He is survived by his children, Michael Lewis Steptoe (Felicia) and Natasha Nicole Boakye (Eric); three grandchildren, Ariel Rochelle Steptoe, Darrion Sullivan, and Shani Cash; nine siblings, John Steptoe (Renee), Michael Steptoe (Amanda), Adam Steptoe (Tina), Eugene Steptoe, David Steptoe (Cheryl), Major Steptoe, William “Henry” Steptoe, Juanita Steptoe, and Anthony Steptoe; numerous nieces and nephews including special ones, Kevin Petty (Darlene), Kathy Petty (Leo), Alexis Steptoe, and Jasmine Steptoe; sister-in-law, Leda Steptoe; and special friends, Sheila McPeters (Ronnie) and Autumn Andrews and her children.

In accordance with his wishes, the family will hold a service at a later date.
