In the early morning hours of Sunday, January 23, 2022, James “JP” Crisp went home to be with the Lord. He was born on August 2, 1933 in Clay County to the late Lee Barry and Artie Mason Crisp.
He is preceded in death by his son, Jason Crisp and siblings, Richard Crisp, Gene Crisp and Neva Baxter.
JP attended Zion Hill Baptist Church and was a retired furniture supervisor. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing especially working on his tractor. JP was a loving father, grandfather and brother and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by three children, Bryon Crisp (Elizabeth), Shari Crisp (Rick Hensley) and Eric Crisp; daughter-in-law, Amanda Crisp; three brothers, Glenn Crisp, Louis Crisp and Lester Crisp (Judy). Also surviving JP are six grandchildren, Eleni Zenteno, Payton Crisp (Abbie), Garett Crisp, Bryson Crisp, Logan Crisp and Matthew Crisp and one great-grandson, James Farra.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Tom Walker and Reverend Millard Kiser officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
