Mr. James Rolan Cochran, age 81 of the Sugar Hill community, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at his residence with his loving family by his side. The son of the late Otis Cochran and Essie Morgan Cochran, he was born on February 14, 1938.
James was a veteran of the Air Force and was the owner and operator of Cochran Construction, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but he loved his family above everything else.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by two sisters.
Left to cherish James’ memory are his beloved wife of 59 years, Carol Davis Cochran, of the home; four children, Sheldon Cochran (Pam), Sonya Cable (Steve), Christine Deyton, and Patrick Cochran (Candis), all of Marion, North Carolina. James also leaves behind nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren, with one on the way; one niece, and one nephew.
A funeral service to celebrate James’ life will be held on Saturday, October 26th, 2019 at 3:00 P.M., at Nealsville Church of God, with Reverends Doug Carpenter, Tim Macon and Jimmy Upton officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M., until 3:00 P.M., two hours prior to the service at the church.
