Jack Keys

Jack Keys, age 76, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville.  Born in Baltimore City, Maryland on June 23, 1941, he was the son of the late Ed and Catherine Keys.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Keys who passed away in October of 2017.

Jack, who was an amateur photographer, enjoyed traveling different Continents with his grandson “Little” Zachary.  Having an interest in planes and trains, for many years he had volunteered at the Old Depot in Black Mountain and was a member of the McDowell County Historical Society and McDowell County Democratic Party.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Laura Lyn Keys (Zachary Chambers) and their son, Zachary of Marion; one sister, Carol Keys of Marion; two nieces and five great nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Jack’s wishes, no services are planned.
