Jack Eldon Huckobey, II, 73, of Marion, North Carolina passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at Mission Hospital McDowell.
He was born in Los Banos, California on September 25, 1948 to the late Jack Eldon Huckobey, Sr. and Mary Davenport Huckobey.
Jack worked as a heavy equipment operator. He built his home in California, and remodeled his home in North Carolina. However, his first love was art. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from the Academy of Art in San Francisco. He painted countless landscapes and he did some sculpture as well. Though he spent most of his life in California, the Montford Cove Community has been his home for the past several years. Jack was a very hard-working man who was also passionate about politics.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Melba Huckobey Fox; and a granddaughter, Olivia Knapp.
He leaves behind his wife with whom he just celebrated 32 years of marriage, Theresa “Tess” Huckobey; four children, Michele Hussey (David Carlson), Lawrence Hussey (Cathy); Deborrah Hussey (Eric Knapp), and Michael Hussey; six grandchildren, Andrew Carlson (Ariani), Nicholas Carlson, Lawrence Hussey II, Melissa Hussey, Evelyn Hussey, and Ava Knapp; and two brothers, Jerrell Huckobey (Mindy) and George Huckobey.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service.
