Jack Thomas Holland, age 66, of the Glenwood Community, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem. A son of the late Thomas and Nannie Andrews Holland, he was born on March 9, 1950 in Bethesda, Maryland.
Mr. Holland, a veteran of the United States Army, proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a helicopter pilot. He was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church where he taught 5th through 6th grade Sunday school until his health began to decline. Through the years, Jack enjoyed wood working, but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, David Graham Holland and John Curtis Holland.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Nancy Richards Holland; two children, Brandie Holland Warren and Shane Holland and spouse, Nikki; one brother, Tommie Edward Holland; and three grandchildren, Josie Warren, Riley Jo Holland and Ryan Thomas Holland.
A celebration to honor the life of Jack will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Glenwood Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Love, Rev. Jim Brewer and Mr. Stacy Truesdell officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by the United States Army, will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
