J. R. Edwards

J.R. Edwards, age 63, of Marion, passed away on Saturday, December 03, 2016 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville.  Born in McDowell County, North Carolina on March 08, 1953, he was the son of Queenie Hollifield Edwards of Marion and the late Woodrow B. Edwards.

A loving father, grandfather and brother, J.R. was a member of the McDowell County Democratic Party.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Nelson Edwards, who passed away in January 2016; one brother; and four sisters. 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by four daughters, Karen Edwards, Kathy Macdonald, Amy Bright and Ember Jade Edwards; one brother, Daniel Edwards (Evelyn); and three sisters, Brenda Hall (Charlie), Kim Edwards and Sarah Edwards.  J.R. is also survived by his ten precious grandchildren, who all meant the world to him.
