J. C. Moore, Sr.

J.C. Moore, Sr., age 77, of Old Fort, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016 at his residence with his loving family at his side.  A native of McDowell County, North Carolina, born January 05, 1939 and having been the youngest, he was the son of the late William and Cora Melton Moore.

A loving husband, and fantastic father, grandfather and brother, J.C., up until his health began to decline, enjoyed hunting. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Helen Pack Moore; four daughters, Rose Hollifield, Sharon Barlow, Sarah Sigmon and Sheila Holley; one son, Joe Moore; one brother, Lester Moore (Bernice); and three sisters, Geneva Johnson, Irene Chrisawn and Ada Frady.  J.C. is also survived by eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, which he thought the world of.
