Inez Byrd McPeters

Inez Byrd McPeters “Mamaw Mc,” 87, of Marion, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, March 27, 2024.

She was born in Old Fort on March 25, 1937 to the late Robert “Bob” Byrd and Ellie Haynes Byrd. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” McPeters; a son, Michael Alan McPeters; a grandson, Andrew Michael McPeters; and a brother, Johnnie Cleveland Byrd.

Inez was a homemaker early on in her life. She later retired from Ethan Allen where she was employed as an Inspector. She was always a hard worker at whatever she was doing. She was a kind and loving woman who adored her children and grandchildren. Her family will fondly remember her Sunday Dinners and her delicious biscuits and gravy. Inez loved feeding and watching the wildlife around her home. More than anything, she loved her Lord and her church, Faith Missionary Baptist Church in North Cove.

She is survived by two children, Lynn Tomlinson (David) and Jerry McPeters (Joanna); and two grandchildren, Garrett McPeters (Sarah) and Sarah McPeters (Colton Boone- fiancé).

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Beam Celebration Center with Rev. Gary Greene officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private at McDowell Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Faith Missionary Baptist Church, c/o 13921 US 221 N, Marion, NC 28752 with donations noted for the Youth Group.
