Inez Finley Kirkpatrick

On Friday, November 3, 2023 Inez Finley Kirkpatrick went to be with the Lord at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills with her loving family by her side.

A native of McDowell County, she was born on April 13, 1935 to the late Robert Finley and Hessie Hollifield Finley. She was also preceded in death by a son, Carroll Kirkpatrick; and her siblings, Albert Finley, Paul Finley, Earl Finley, Sewell Finley, Roy Finley, Edna Condrey, Irene Davis, and Edith Elliott.

Inez was a faithful pastor’s wife who loved her family with her whole heart. She attended Clinchfield Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling with her family and babysitting. She will be remembered for her excellent cooking and her talent for sewing and cross stitching.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Rev. Eddie Kirkpatrick; two children, Jeannie Clontz (Jerry) and Robert Kirkpatrick (Tammy); daughter-in-law, Donna Marlow Kirkpatrick; two grandchildren, Nick Kirkpatrick (Desarae) and Matthew Kirkpatrick; one great granddaughter, Kaley Kirkpatrick; brother-in-law, Herman Elliott; and sister-in-law, Jackie Finley.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Clinchfield Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Roach officiating. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.
