Inez Freeman

Inez Hampton Freeman, age 95, is now with her Heavenly Father.  She passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 19, 2017 following a brief illness.  She had survived heart surgery and several falls over the years, but her Heavenly Father felt it was time to call her home. 

Born in the Brasstown Community of Cherokee County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Carrie Crisp Hampton.  Inez was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Freeman; and one son, Ricky Freeman.

Inez, who loved her children and grandchildren, was proud of each and every one of them.  When her husband, Frank, passed away from a tragic accident, Inez along with her mother took care of the children and provided for them.  To this day, her children knew that they were loved unconditionally. 

Known to have taken pride in her flowers and her home, she had worked in Quality Control for Drexel Heritage several years until she became the caregiver for her mother.  She was always grateful to God for how she had been blessed and was loved deeply. She will be missed each and every day.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Brown (Gary) and Betty Miller (Wayne); one son, Jerry Freeman (Denise); eight grandchildren, Shane Freeman (Ashley), Lorie Schneeberger (Dru), Valerie Dobson (Josh), Eric Miller (Shea), Derick Miller, Brent Brown (Tonya), Jeremy Freeman (Jordan) and Ethan Freeman (Tuccoa); nine great grandchildren, Alexis, Kennedy, Montana, Ridge, Breelle, Ava, Jackson, Sierra and Peyton; and one great-great grandson, Braxston.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Bruce Ward and Rev. Wayne Miller officiating.  Interment will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery which will be led by Josh Dobson.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home. 

The family wishes to thank all of Inez’s family, friends and neighbors who assisted her during her time of need.
