India Rutherford

India Elizabeth Dawn Rutherford, age 37, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed way Friday, August 19, 2022 at UNC Health Blue Ridge.

She was born on September 16, 1984 in Burke County to Earl Franklin “Bubba” Wilkerson and Sherry Rutherford Wilkerson.

India was known to always have a smile, and she always put others before herself. India lived for her children. She wanted the best for her family and friends and was sure to look after them. India was a true giver, and she loved her Lord most of all.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her four precious children, Azariah Rutherford, Micaiah Rutherford, Miriah Rutherford, and Ayiah Rutherford; her sister, Felicia Rutherford; her brother, Curtis Tate (Beth); grand-daddy, Arell Rutherford, Sr.;special friend, Derrick Berry; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service.

A celebration of India’s life will be at Chambers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at St. John’s AME Church Cemetery.
