Homer "Shirl" Robinson

Homer "Shirl" Robinson, born on November 27, 1951, in Yancey County, North Carolina, passed away on November 6, 2024, at Mission Hospital. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who touched many lives. 

Shirl shared a life filled with love and affection with his beloved wife, Marlene J. Robinson. They had a beautiful family that was the pride and joy of Shirl's life. He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Howard and her husband Jason, and Johnsie Parker and her husband Charles, as well as his son, Joseph Ollis and his wife Julie. Shirl was a cherished brother to Trina Williams and her husband Boyd. His grandchildren, Montanna Owen, Alex Parker, Ethan Parker, William Ollis, Ivey Ollis, Boston Ollis, and Lily Ollis, were a constant source of joy for him, and he took great pride in each of their accomplishments.

Shirl was known for his vibrant personality and his passion for life. He had a deep love for riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, especially enjoying scenic rides along the Parkway. His enthusiasm for sports, particularly baseball, showcased his spirited nature and competitive edge. In his younger days, he relished the challenge of rebuilding classic cars, a hobby that reflected his hands-on approach to life.

The visitation for Shirl will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM, at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory located at 2170 Rutherford Rd, Marion, NC 28752.

Shirl Robinson will be fondly remembered by all who knew him, and his legacy will continue through the love he shared with his family and friends.
