Hilda Sue McGee Edwards

Hilda Sue McGee Edwards, 71, of Marion, passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at her home.

She was born in Avery County on June 2, 1953 to the late Willard Jesse McGee and Rena Isabelle McHeffey McGee. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Joel Edwards, Sr.

Hilda dedicated much of her life to her career at Continental Teves, where she served as an inspector until her well-deserved retirement.

Hilda's family was her greatest pride and joy. She cherished the moments spent with her grandchildren, celebrating milestones and creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime. Her love for family extended beyond her immediate household, filling the lives of those around her with warmth and affection.

In her personal life, Hilda had a deep affection for her two dogs, Patches and Gigi, who brought joy and companionship into her life. She enjoyed shopping, and especially enjoyed online shopping later in life. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by four children, Erin Rupp (Jo), Joel Edwards, Timothy Edwards, and Jacob Edwards (Jennifer); three grandchildren, Sienna Edwards, Madilyn Edwards, and Elijah Edwards; and two brothers, Stuart McGee and Jeff McGee (Jamie).

The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Harvest Time Baptist Church, 130 Franklin Avenue, in Marion. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., at the church.
