Helen Leona Boylen Toney, 95, of Nebo, went to be with the Lord on the morning of Thursday, December 15, 2022 at her residence.
Helen was born in Taylor County, West Virginia on April 22, 1927 to the late Clifford Daniel Boylen and Chloe Florence Shahan Boylen. During WWII she welded on ships and built airplanes in Baltimore, Maryland. Helen was a faithful pastor’s wife and was known as a prayer warrior. She was a co-founder of Victory Temple Full Gospel Church. Helen was known as a wonderful cook and was always giving to others. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one sister, six brothers and a son-in-law, Wayne Fortune.
Helen is survived by her husband of sixty four years, Rev. Walker Y. Toney; three children, Sharon Fortune, Ronnie Miller (Pam) and Connie Lancaster (Don); a sister, Margie Newlon; two brothers, Francis Boylen and Jimmy Boylen; eight grandchildren, Angel Carver, Jamie Przywara (David), Greg Lancaster, Brandon Lancaster, Eddie Mathes (Lisa), Kenny Fortune (Susie), Timmy Fortune (Michelle), Darrell Fortune (Angelene); ten great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Victory Temple Full Gospel Church on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at 3:00 pm. with the Rev. Pete McCombs officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the church. Burial will take place at Victory Temple Cemetery following the service.
The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice of Rutherford especially Susan, Sherry, Ronda and Lori.
