Helen Jean Hollifield

Helen (Jean) Allen Hollifield, 88, of Marion, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Saturday, January 16, 2021, at her residence with her family by her side.

She was born in Mitchell County on November 11, 1932 to the late Roscoe and Velma McKinney Allen.

Jean loved the Lord and her family with her whole heart. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with them. In her spare time, she liked to read and take vacations with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Russell Hollifield; a great grandchild; and two sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include her four children, Chuck Hollifield (Pat), Nancy Street (Kenny), Tim Hollifield (Renee), and Tom Hollifield (Kim); eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Glenwood Cemetery.
