Hazel Sue McCurry

Hazel Sue McCurry, 86, of Bostic, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023 at her granddaughter’s residence in Ellenboro.

A native of Rutherford County, Hazel was born on May 8, 1936 to the late Eli and Lola McCurry.

Hazel was a lifelong homemaker. She was not only a mother to her own children but also to countless others who considered her a mother figure in their lives. She enjoyed traveling and listening to country music. Hazel also had a love for flowers.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two children, Thelma and Leon.

She is survived by 12 children, Tuna, Connie (Lee), Essie, Carrie, Deleaphine, Joyce, Danny, Dallas (Brenda), Randy (Renee), Warren (Kelly), Chad (Marie), and Windell (Lisa); fifteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held at this time.
