Hattie Marie Jaynes

Marie Truett Jaynes, age 73, of Nebo, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at St. Joseph Campus in Asheville. A native of Cherokee County, Marie was born on November 15, 1945 to the late Bronce Richard and Elma Jones Truett.

She is preceded in death by her siblings, Helen Truett Padgett, Carl Neil Truett, Jerry Richard Truett, Billy Ray Truett, Ronald Lane Truett and Bobby Jack Truett.

Marie retired from Nebo Elementary School following many years of service in the lunch room, where she enjoyed working with the students and co workers. She loved working in her flowers, traveling, reading and crafts. If you were lucky enough to be her friend you  wer the one who was blessed!

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of fifty-six years, Donald Jaynes; four sisters-in-law, Helen Truett, Chris Truett, Margaret Truett and Linda Truett. Also surviving Marie are her nieces and nephews and canine companion “George”.

A funeral service to honor Marie’s life will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Beam Funeral Service with Reverend Dean Owenby officiating. The family will receive from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place following the service at Nebo First Baptist Church Cemetery.
