Harley Lee Morgan

Harley Lee Morgan, 80, of Marion, passed away peacefully, on Friday, October 13,
2023, at McDowell Hospital.


Harley was born in McDowell County, NC on December 14, 1942, to the late John
Morgan and Althea Elizabeth Gillespie Morgan. He was married to the late Dorothy
Morgan, who passed away in 2022. Harley was a member of Ridgeway Freewill Baptist
Church and was a professional butcher for more than twenty-five years. He loved to
read and would regularly study the Bible. Harley was an avid outdoorsman who loved
gathering herbs and gardening. He will be greatly missed.


 In addition to his wife and parents, Harley was preceded in death by two sons,
Rodney Wayne Morgan and Ronald Douglas Morgan; a sister, Betty Ross; and three
brothers, Harold, Donald, and Calvin Morgan.


 Those left to cherish his memory include a daughter, Tonya McIntosh (Eric); a
daughter in law, Tammy Ruth Morgan; three grandchildren, Joshua Oran Morgan,
Hannah Rebecca Morgan, and Aurora Morgan; and a great grandson, Atlas Orion.


A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 23, 2023, at
Ridgeway Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Marion.


 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s
Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105
