Gudger Stanley Maynor

Gudger Stanley Maynor, age 64, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away at his residence on the evening of Sunday, January 28, 2018.  Born in Newland, North Carolina on November 17, 1953, he was the son of the late Nubin Goforth and Billie Maynor Harris.  Gudger was also raised by his grandparents the late Bart and Nell Maynor.

In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by one son, Stanley Daniel Maynor, who passed away on June 17, 2015; one brother, Ricky Harris; and one sister, Chequella Harris.

Gudger, who enjoyed traveling, was also known to do mechanic work before his health began to decline.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. 

Left to cherish his memories, one daughter, Brandy Maynor of Nebo; one son, Josh Maynor of Marion; one stepson, Michael Foster of Morganton; three brothers, Bud Harris, Danny Harris and Chub Harris, all of Valdese; and two sisters, Twila McPeters of Valdese and Debra Harris of Nebo.  He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Daniel, Jay, Jaret, Dylan, Devon, Camron, Logan and Kalie.

A celebration of Gudger’s life will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
