Graham Deacon Glassman, Sr.

Graham Deacon Glassman Sr., 84, of Marion, NC, formally of Charlotte, NC, passed away on March 12, 2019 in Marion, NC.

Visitation will be 2pm (Friday 3/15/19 at Beam Funeral Service Marion, NC and memorial service will commence immediately afterwards with Jerry Lewis of Grace Community Church officiating.  

Graham was born in S. Bend, IN to Herbert & Helen Glassman on 2/5/35.  He went to school at Chamblee High School in Atlanta, GA.  Graham founded & built G-Man Kartworks which was a leading supplier of plastic karting equipment & performance parts that provided racing equipment, support, and sponsorships from beginners all the way to the professional level.  His contribution & loyalty to the sport can still be seen at tracks up & down the east coast today. He was inducted into the World Karting Association Hall of Fame in January of 2002   

Graham is preceded in death by (mother & father- Herbert & Helen Glassman & Arthur Charles, brother.   

Graham is survived by his life partner Margaret Hunter: son, Graham Glassman Jr, daughter Dorothy and husband Tom Dye, son Clifford and wife Denise Glassman, son Greg Glassman and wife Suzie Glassman: brother Herbert Glassman and sister Frances Patterson; 10 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren, & 3 Great-Great Grandchildren.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of McDowell County.
