Grady Dale Haney

Grady Dale Haney, age 77, of Marion, North Carolina passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 24, 2017. He was born in Yancey County on October 31, 1939, to the late Solon and Laura Phillips Haney.

Grady was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Tipton, Harold, Melvin and Paul Haney; and one sister, Perchie Haney.

Grady enjoyed playing guitar and beach bingo. He loved working in the outdoors and planting shrubbery. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his six children, Loretta Reel (Tommy), Terry Haney (Stacey), Dennis Haney, Rhonda Elliott (Mark); his step-daughter, Sharon Crowder (Danny) and step-son Ricky Ray. He is also survived by one sister, Hazel Strickland, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service to celebrate Mr. Haney’s life will take place on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Reverend Danny Crowder officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place following the service at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery.
