Glenna June Jarrett Hammett

Glenna June went to her heavenly Home on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. She was born on December 19, 1937 in Yancey County to the late David and Viola Presnell Jarrett.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene Jarrett and Dean Jarrett and sisters, Mona Lee Hughes and Rheba Sneed.

June graduated from Claremont High School. She was a diligent worker with excellent work ethics and thoroughly enjoyed working, which she did until she was eighty years old. She was a very kind hearted woman who loved blessing others by helping them work, taking part in their lives and blessing them with finances when able. June was not one with extravagant means but blessed others as she was blessed. She loved her family dearly and was a very caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Kim Webb and favorite son-in-law, Mickey; grandson, Will Webb and wife Amanda; and sons, Luke and James Webb, grandson, Andy Webb and sons, Bennett and Ethan Webb. Also surviving Glenna is her sisters-in-law, Lou Etta Jarrett and Jill Jarrett and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Beam Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Laura Long officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank all those at Mountain Ridge who cared for her and gave her much love. We also want to thank Carolina Foothills Hospice in Rutherfordton, N.C., who was a great help to us in many ways. We also want to thank all those who visited her and cared for her in any way.
