Glenda Mae Thompson Mace

On the afternoon of Thursday, September 30, 2021, Glenda Mae Thompson Mace, age 71, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family she loved so much.

She was born in McDowell County to Mary Martin Thompson and the late Vance Drew Thompson.

Glenda was the sweetest and most kind-hearted lady you could ever meet. She was loved by everyone she knew. Her life revolved around her family her whole life. She was a dedicated and devoted wife and mother, but being a grandmother to her precious grandchildren was her favorite title of all. If you look up the definition of mother in the dictionary, Glenda’s name would be there.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Jean Mace.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are her husband of 56 years, Charles Ray Mace; two children, Travis Mace and wife Kendall and Lisa Morgan and husband Steven; five grandchildren, Jonathan Mace, Jacob Cable, Madison Morgan, Miley Morgan, and Dallas Mace; and six brothers, Aaron Thompson, Vance Thompson, Waynon Thompson, James Thompson, Dennis Thompson, and Ernest Thompson.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 06, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m.
