Gerald L. Cable

     Gerald L. Cable, 71, of Marion, NC, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center in Asheville.

     Gerald was born in McDowell County, NC on June 27, 1950, to the late Wince and Maggie Laws Cable. He was married to his wife of 49 years, Helga Gast Cable. Gerald served his country proudly in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army, with whom he retired after many years of faithful service. He spent a majority of his time in service stationed in Germany. Gerald was a classic car and motorcycle enthusiast and was a member of Patriot Guard Riders. He loved to travel and had a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.

     In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Fincher; and three brothers, Everett, Kenneth, and Danny Cable.

     He is survived by his wife, Helga Cable; a son, Wince Cable and wife Anna; a daughter, Romona DeAngelous and husband Carlo, all of Marion; four sisters, Ila, Mary, Wilma, and Marlene; two brothers, Eddie and Donald; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

     In accordance with Gerald’s wishes, no services will be held.
