George Clifford Seagle

Mr. George Clifford Seagle, Age 89, of Marion passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Deer Park Nursing. Clifford was born in McDowell County on March 22, 1934 to the late Raymond Seagle and Vera Goforth Seagle. He was preceded in death by his wife Polly Atkins Seagle; one grandson, Jason Patrick Blanton; and great granddaughter Olivia Elliott.

Clifford was a proud US Navy veteran who served in Korea. He and his wife loved to travel. He also enjoyed fishing in Ontario, Canada and the Florida Keys, he also loved farming and raising his cattle and goats. Clifford was the former owner of the Rocky Pass Rest Home among several others.

Survivors include his daughter, Chris Blanton (Whit); one granddaughter Melissa Elliott (Michael); one great granddaughter Audrey Elliott; cousins Harold Seagle (Marie), Dottie Farris, and Debbie Betz.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the East Marion United Methodist Church with Reverend Phil Tate officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the East Marion United Methodist Church.
