In the early morning hours of Sunday, October 17, 2021, George Gonzalo Rollo, age 88, of Marion, went home to be with the Lord. Born on May 16, 1933 in Dade County, Florida to the late John and Blanca Rivero Rollo.
George was a member of Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher and choir member. He was known for his great sense of humor. George was a member of the Gideon’s and formerly owned Marion Office Machines. He enjoyed wood working, traveling and camping, but his greatest joy was spending time with his wife and family.
George is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Betty Rollo; two children, Dean Rollo (Sherry) and Diane Bruce (Bob); his twin brother, Mario Rollo and one sister, Sophia DeMoss. Also surviving George are seven grandchildren, Amanda Rollo (Ed Arnaldo), Anna Thomas (JT), Abigail Alewine (Joe), Holly Laughridge, Montgomery -Lee Bruce, Scarlett Bruce and Jack Bruce; two great-grandchildren, Carson and Ryan Talbert.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church with Reverends Alan Sailors and Bobby Sheehan officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
