Geneva Mae Randall Cable, 88, of Marion, North Carolina, departed to be with the Lord on Sunday afternoon, March 12, 2023 at Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum, South Carolina. She was born in Madison County on September 4, 1934 to the late Edward and Lula Sprinkle Randall.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 ½ years, Everett O’Neal Cable; and six siblings, Irland Randall, Everette Randall, James Randall, Jerry Randall, RoseAnn Randall, and Ronald Randall.
Geneva was a longtime faithful member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where she had served as church treasurer, assistant Sunday School teacher, the head of the food committee, and also as a deacon’s wife. She attended Western Carolina University. She retired from Collins and Aikman where she worked in accounting. Geneva had a true servant’s heart and spent her life caring for others and putting them first. Above all, she loved the Lord and her family.
She is survived by three children, Scott Cable (Denise), Penny Yearwood, and Ronnie Cable (Melody); ten grandchildren, Elizabeth Cable, LaChrea Yearwood, Kayla Hughes (Luke), DaLee Holley, Morgan Cable, Arielle McLaughlin (Caleb), Abbey Crisp (Payton), Drew Dixon, Logan Dixon, and Levi Duncan; six great grandchildren, Peyton Holley, Adalyn Cable, McKynlee Cable, Blakeley McLaughlin, RayLynn Holley, and Mackston Everett Cable; two siblings, Bobby Randall (Hilda) and Ruth Miller; sisters-in-law, Judy Randall, Pauline Randall, and Alice Randall; and several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Cable’s life will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Tom Walker, Pastor Dean Owenby, and Chairman of the Deacons Paul Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m., two hours prior to the service.
