Gary Dean Joy

Gary Dean Joy, age 83, of Morganton, passed away Friday January, 27, 2023 at Amorem Hospice in Valdese. He was born in Gosper County, Nebraska on February 15, 1939 to the late Donald Chester Joy and Vera Lola Bean Joy.

 He graduated from Baylor University in 1961 and made his career in the bank insurance business in Houston, TX. Gary later retired following 30 years of service. He loved golfing and tending to his animals. He also was member of Victory Temple Full Gospel Church.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Brenda C. Courtney Joy of the home; two sons, Greg and Jeff; daughter, Mary Anne; Stepson, Bobby Courtney (Melinda); Three step grandsons, Josh,and Ricky (Elizabeth) and Michael (Hailey); step-grandson, Issic McKenzie.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Victory Temple Full Gospel Church with Rev. Pete McCombs officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. one hour prior to the service hour.
