Gary Everett Hollifield

Gary Everett Hollifield, 69, of Nebo, passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 at The Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital.

Gary was born in Marion, North Carolina on December 9, 1951 to Lucille Blankenship Hollifield and the late Doc Everett Hollifield.

Gary was a faithful member of Nowlings Chapel Church. Gary taught Sunday School for many years at Rocky Pass and then Nowlings Chapel. Gary was an avid sports fan, especially of the Dallas Cowboys, NC State Wolfpack and the Atlanta Braves. He served in the National Guard. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Chapman Hollifield; three children, Gary Wayne Hollifield, Jennifer H. Parton (Seth), and Samuel Jason Hollifield (Betty); five grandchildren, Jordan Parton, Taylor Parton Shehan (Briar), Austin Allen, Zach Hollifield, and Rheagan Hollifield; four great-grandchildren, Carter McKinney, Isabella Shehan, Easton Shehan, and Christian Shehan; and one brother, Ronnie Hollifield (Claire Ann).

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Darvey Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Freewill Baptist Church Cemetary.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
