Gary Ed Duncan

In the early morning hours on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, surrounded by his loving family, Gary Ed Duncan, age 58, of Marion, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord while at Mission Hospital Memorial Campus in Asheville.  A native and lifelong resident of McDowell County, North Carolina, born August 16, 1957, he was the son of the late Phillip and Ruby Gillespie Duncan.  Gary attended Going Home Free Will Baptist Church.

Gary is survived by one son, Stephen Duncan (Brandi); one daughter, Beth Sherlin (Dusty); one brother, Benny Duncan (Sharon); three grandchildren, Sarah Duncan, Jonah Sherlin and Hannah Duncan; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Going Home Free Will Baptist Church with Revs. Jeff Duncan and Tim Biddix officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., two hours prior to the service, at the church.
