Gary Buckner

On the morning of Friday, March 9, 2018, Gary Buckner, age 70, of Marion, North Carolina passed away at Carolinas Healthcare-Blue Ridge (Grace Hospital) in Morganton.  The son of the late Minnie Carmney Buckner, he was born in McDowell County, North Carolina on April 26, 1947.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one cousin, Gene Carmney.

Gary enjoyed talking on his ham radio and listening to a variety of music.  He was known to play the drums and occasionally would pick a guitar.

He is survived by one aunt, Eva Carmney; two cousins, Glenda C. Ward and her husband, David; and Linda K. Queen and her husband, Boyd.  Gary is also survived by his late cousin, Gene’s wife, Carol Carmney. 

A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion with Rev. Charles Dicks and Rev. Joseph Ward officiating.  A private burial will be held at Snow Hill Cemetery.
