Gail Carter

Gail “Gia” Carter, 63, of Marion, went home to be with Jesus in the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.
She was born May 19, 1960 in McDowell County to the late Cartha Bolick Martin.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Ernestine Clay; and one brother, Micheal Waycaster.
Gail was an adventure seeking free spirit. She always let the wind lead her where she needed to go. She lived and worked in so many places including the Biltmore, Fontana, Myrtle Beach, and so many more. Gail was employed as a cashier at Walmart the past year, where she found so much joy. She was the kindest and most loving woman one could meet. She loved fiercely and placed great importance on her family. She was a bright light in the world and people were drawn to her. Gail was loved and will be remembered fondly by all.
She is survived by two children, Brandi Carter and Jacob Covert (Sierra); three grandchildren, Gabi Carter, Luke Carter, and Swae Covert; one sister, JoAnn Rabb; one brother, Wade Waycaster (Faye); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends who she loved.
No services are planned at this time. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
